Kachere Development Programme new Regional Partnership

Kachere Development Programme has signed a joint Memorandum of Understanding with Global Hope Mobilisation, a Malawian Non-Governmental Organisation based in Lilongwe.

The signing took place in Lilongwe on Friday 24th May 2013 after three days of consultation and partnership visits to different stakeholders and partners.

The signing ceremony was attended by Global Hope Mobilisation Executive Director-Mr. Caleb Thole, Staff while Kachere Development Progamme was represented by its Director-Rev. Dennis Milanzi and Programmes Manager-Mr. Keepson Chirwa.

Prior to the signing of the MoU, the two partners took time to visit different partners in Lilongwe who were providing assistance and technical support to Global Hope Mobilisation. This visit included a courtesy call to Principal Secretaries in the Ministry of Youth, Development and Sports, UNAIDS Country Representative-Patrick Brenny, UNFPA Country Representative and the Country's Attorney General in the Ministry of Justice at the Capital Hill.

Another stakeholders engagement included Plan Malawi where the two partners shared their regional integration plan at the Cresta Crossroads Hotel.

As part of understanding the community programs, the two partners visited Nkhukwa area in T/A Kalumba on the outskirts of Lilongwe where Globe Hope is implementing some projects in water and sanitation.

In April 2013 Global Hope Director visited Kachere Development Programme for a familiarisation tour to assess the opportunity for the Malawi-Zambia Partnership.

This partnership will see both organisation develop resource mobilisation and program implementation at regional level which will see strong regional collaboration.

As part of strengthening this partnership, both partners will begin the process of staff exchange and deployment which will see staff from Kachere in Zambia working in Lilongwe at Global Hope and vice versa.

This is a greatest milestone for Kachere as the organisation continues gaining momentum and international reputation.
